In February 1943 a meeting was held in London to promote the interests of the prisoner-of-war and civilian internees being held in Hong Kong. At this meeting the decision was taken to produce a news letter to provide information about the conditions and news of the activities of all of those held in the Hong Kong camps. Titled "The Hong Kong Fellowship News Letter" a total of nine issues of this periodical were published between March 1943 and January 1946.
The newsletter provides details of conditions thought to exist in camps and reprints a few of the very sketchy details from the cards that prisoners were allowed to send once every three months. These often took more than a year to reach their destination.
It appears that the only known copies of this periodical are held in the National Library of Australia in the J.M. Braga Collection. The library holds eight of the nine copies published, and although they have a scanned copy of this second issue, they do not hold a copy of the issue itself. (References: J.M. Braga from his 1972 introduction to the bound set of issues held by the NLA; Dr Stuart Braga).
