It is divided into five books, the first four being translated from the Portuguese account by Fernão Guerreiro “Relaçam annal das cousas que fizeram os padres da Companhia de Jesus” published in 1611. The fifth is an original composition by Christoval Suárez de Figueroa.

The work covers the Missionaries Relations and news concerning Japan, Goa (including accounts of the New Mission founded in Mozambique, the Mission of Mogor, father Manuel Piñeyro’s journey from Lahore to Goa and Cambay, the discovery of Cathay and the state of Ethiopia), Cochin (news from the colleges at Cranganor, Coulan, Colombo, Malaca and Maluco, the Pegu Residency and the Siam Mission), Sierra Leona and Guinea Coast and an additional account of the happenings in Ethiopia.
